OISF 2011, Top Floor, Barony Mill, Birsay, Orkney

Orkney International Science Festival 2011, Vintage Rally

The OISF is an annual festival which has expanded from pure science to include history, art, music and anything else which will interest the general public.

This is a traditional Orkney water mill used to grind flour and bere (pronounced bear).

Bere is an ancient type of Barley which has been grown in Orkney for centuries.
