A minor basilica, but a very impressive one. Located at Chiquinquira, Boyaca Department, Colombia, is considered one of the most important catholic churches in Colombia. The Basilica was built at the end of the 17th century based on a project of the Spanish architect Domingo de Petres. On 1067, unfortunately, a terrible earthquake destroyed the basilica. The building was rebuilt during the next years. The basilica style is colonial with clear influences of the Spanish architecture
