This is Rákóczi Stairs, one of the works of master architect Pál Soós, which was made at the turn of the 20th century. Due to its westward orientation, it provides a splendid sunset scene lined with climbing plants, the decorative pixel art and graffitis however are more recent additions.
The passage is named in honour of Ferenc Rákóczi II, prince (fejedelem) of the Kingdom of Hungary and Transylvania and leader of the Hungarian uprising against the Habsburg Empire in the 18th century.
