Rathlin Island is a tourist destination on the northern coast of Northern Ireland. It can be reached by ferry taking only 30 mins or less. There is a puffin breeding colony on the island, which is a popular place for photographers and tourists. There are telescopes provided for viewing the birds up close. Although there is a bus to the viewing area, it can be walked to if feeling energetic, however it is a good 4 mile walk.
There is a pub near the dock with outdoor seating. The weather was perfect when we visited, however I understand it can be quite unpredictable at times.
