This room, now called the Salón Dorado (Golden Room), used to be the La Sabana International Airport's Diplomat Lounge. Its walls are covered by a mural constructed in 1939-1940 by Louis Féron, French sculptor and silversmith who lived in Costa Rica for more than ten years.
The mural, with an area of 150 square meters, is made of stucco carved in bas relief and presents significant fragments of Costa Rican history going from the pre-Columbian era up to 1940, when the building was inaugurated.
The Golden Room is part of the Costa Rican Museum of Art, attracting many visitors yearly to appreciate the building and the exhibitions.
