Toron Fall, Gran Sabana, Canaima National Park (Venezuela)(1)

One of the main attractions of  “La Gran Sabana” (the eastern sector of Canaima National Park in Venezuela) is the “Toron” waterfall. Toron Meru (bird fall in native language) is a crystal cascade, on the river “Aponwoao”, is about 75 meters high and falls caudally and stepwise to form a pool a little deep, but in which bathing is delightful.

Access to the waterfall is done by locating the detour on the road Luepa - Kavanayén (approximately 21 km), although since 2009 the Venezuelan government has declared the area a recovery zone and prohibit the passage of cars in order to allow plant succession in the area, leaving the 17-kilometer journey to the cascade, only to cyclists and walkers.
