if you think that being at the end of a road where the only way north is on foot, that you would be right on your own then think again! Heaphy Track is an internationaly renowned walking track, well maintained by DOC and well used by a variety of visitors.

This beach is near the start of the track, and represents a good halk-day walk from the car park.
