This island is located off the northern coast in the middle of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The island has been used as a marine tourism park. It is estimated that the lake was formed by the eruption of Mount Tambora which resulted in a tsunami to hit the caldera of Mount Satonda in 1815.
