在陳定南紀念館的三樓屋頂上能看到交錯的水泥格子中間鋪上碎石，設計師以這樣的結構來表達對於宜蘭自古耕作的田隴意象。這裡有非常好的廣大三星鄉稻田的景觀。
陳定南紀念園區由陳定南教育基金會籌辦，黃建興建築事務所規劃興建。主要為紀念宜蘭的前任縣長：陳定南先生。整個園區以陳定南先生幼年的故居開始發想，整合舊有的三合院，創造適合展覽的空間。
