Sovuta's Rock rises above the same-named gully, both named in honour of the cossack called Sovuta.
Scythian City (V-III centuries BC) is found on the rock.
As a result of the stone quarry works in the beginning of 20th century, and later construction of power transmission towers in 1930s (AKA "three mast"), most of the rocks and the settlement was destroyed.
