It is located in Sanat (Arts) Street in Camiişerif Neighborhood of Akdeniz District, Mersin. The structure built in the 19th century was first used as a residence and then as a hotel, and it was known as Gulnar Hotel for quite a long time. It was sequestrated by the Governorate in 1997. It was renovated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism between 1997 and 2001, and re-opened as Mersin State Arts and Sculpture Museum and Gallery. The building, which presently serves as the Arts and Sculpture Museum and Gallery, is made of face stones. Oriels, on the other hand, are built in Baghdadi technique. Ground floor of the museum building is used as an art gallery, while the first floor is the museum and the second floor hosts the offices and the meeting hall. It is open between 08:00 – 17:00, except for Sundays.
