Termessos, Antalya, Turkey 5

Termessos: the best place for an ancient theatre! From more than 1000m above sea level you can look down to the Mediterranian Sea from the opposit corner of the theatre. The mountain in the background was called Solymos, today Güllük Dağ. In 334BC Alexander the Great tried to conquer the city without success. The Roman times were the most prosperous for the city and left the most buildings.
