The bridge of lovers, Tyumen

History.

The construction of the bridge began in June 1985, and July 26, 1987, 5 years after the collapse at the site of the old wooden bridge, a new cable-stayed bridge was opened. At the time this bridge was called Pedestrian. In 1988 there was a collapse of a similar bridge over the Moscow river in the Voskresensk. In this regard, in 1989 Tyumen bridge was examined by the designers and additionally strengthened coastal prop. In the late 90-ies in Tumen was an informal club of fans of bungee jumping, whose members jumped from the bridge on a rope. But in September 1999, a tragedy happened due to defective equipment 16-year-old fell to his death. After that, these jumps are banned.

In 2003, local DJs Maria Kondratovich and Timur Shkval on the bridge was organized the competition "the Most unusual kiss." After that, the mayor Stepan Kirichuk, it was proposed to rename the bridge from the Pedestrian to the Bridge of Lovers. 26 Jul newlyweds from Tyumen registry office s headed by the Director of the radio station "Red Army" V. Bogomolovym and head of the administration on the bridge was solemnly cut the red ribbon. In 2004, the company MT "ELECTRO" of the bridge supports were equipped with a sophisticated lighting system. The lights of the bridge was made with the calculation that the light does not interfere with passing river vessels, because the Tour is navigable.

The modern condition.

Currently, the bridge is a place of Dating couples and the main attraction of Tyumen. Since 2005, the people hang locks of love, often with a variety of engravings, on the railing of the bridge, then throw the key into the river. So, over the next few years on the bridge hung over a thousand different locks, their maximum permissible weight is 4, 5 tons. Also the citizens of Tyumen there is a tradition to visit the bridge after the wedding, making it a wedding photo session. At the entrance to the bridge there is a clock that helps couples on dates. The bridge is used by residents and Old Zareka moving it to the left Bank. At the direction of mayor Nicholas Romanov bridge was surrounded by night architectural lighting, on a bridge support placed the Russian flag. The bridge is also equipped with Wi-Fi. In the future we plan to repaint the bridge from grey to bright colours and even post it on the fountain.
