Today Talamone proud maintains its appearance of a fortified village of fishermen. What is now a modern tourist port, dominated by the largest fortress of Aldobrandeschi of the late thirteenth century, in 1860 was a strategic landing for the enterprise of Giuseppe Garibaldi.
