Grenen is located at the northern tip of Denmark where the North Sea and Baltic Sea converge. The ever growing strip of beach is at the point where the Kattegat, the body of water between Denmark and Sweden, and the Skagerrak Strait, which is part of the North Sea, blend into one another. The junction of the two bodies of water creates powerful currents creating a sandbar that is growing by around 10 metres a year.
The Sandormen tractor provides transport from the car park to the northernmost point on the beach, saving a 30 minute walk.
