Obsidian Dome

Looking at the Obsidian Dome area, part of the Mono-Inyo Craters, a volcanic field near Mammoth Lakes, California.  This eruption occurred around 1350CE w/ certain areas of the flow producing lovely black obsidian.  Looking south one can see high peaks of the Sierra Nevada as well as nearby Glass Creek Dome, another obsidian flow.
