This is a square commonly called "the old market square" of Tychy, but it isn't so old as it could seem! It was also laid out during developing the "New Tychy" in the late 1950s, and was intended to be a link between the Old Tychy and the "New Tychy". A baroque church, which takes up the north frontage of the square, is just the part of the old part of Tychy, and the Little Theatre, situated opposite the church, belongs to the Estate "B" - a part of the "New Tychy". The buildings forming the west and east frontage of the square, were also erected in the late 1950s.
