Upton Upon Severn, Floods, Feb 2014, 2007 Flood Mark

During the beginning part of 2014 the UK experienced strong storms that contained a lot of rain. This resulted in a large amount of danage across a wide swath of the UK. Upton Upon Severn is situated on the river Severn (as the name suggests) and most of the time is a plesent river running through the  town. Unfortunately at this time it was swolen by vast amounts of water coming from as far afield as Wales. By the time I took this the water levels had been this high (and slightly higher) for a considerible amount of time. Luckily for Upton Upon Severn a large amount of money had been spent of flood defences. If it wasn't for them I would be standing in deep water and houses would be flooded. You can also see a mark on the wall showing the height the water got in the 2007 floods, before the new flood defences.
