Westwater Natural Bridge is located about 2 miles southwest of Blanding, San Juan County, Utah. This natural rock bridge is located on the west rim of Westwater Canyon. Access is via a paved road that arrives on the east canyon rim. The bridge is a bit difficult to see 135 feet away from the east canyon rim and there is no improved hiking trail through the canyon to the bridge. There use to be a foot bridge across the canyon but it has been removed.
However, the hike is short and possible with a little care and patience with the rocks and thick brush in the bottom of the canyon.
The underside of this 80 foot bridge is home to a number of Swollows and their mud nests. This image was taken July 10, 2011.
