On New Years Day 2015 Munich was covered with some nice snow and the sunny blue sky invited people for a walk alongside the river Isar. Here at the Wittelsbach bridge also the winter landscape benefits from a re-naturalized river and traffic on the usually busy street that crosses the Isar is low due to the holiday.
The sculpture shows the first Wittelsbach duke of Bavaria, Otto "the Redhead", first of a dynasty that lasted from 1180 until 1918.
