This is a view looking across Worbarrow Bay from Mupe Rocks to Worbarrow Tout. On the other side of the bay is the village of Tyneham, this village and the surrounding land was temporarily given up for use by the army during WWII as a firing range. This notice was pinned to the door of the the school house:
“Please treat the church and houses with care; we have given up our homes where many of us lived for generations to help win the war to keep men free. We shall return one day and thank you for treating the village kindly.”
It was never returned.
