The Parish Church of Santa Maria Maior Current is a reconstruction of the 2nd XIV century barracks, on a Romanesque pre-existence, and was commissioned by the 3rd Count Barcelos d.Pedro Afonso, whose weapons are recorded in the archivolts of the axial portal. During the restoration of DGMEN in 1927 the 3 chapels of the headboard were rebuilt following the original foundations demolished in the century. XVI. The tiles panels are 1721 and cover the church's body with episodes of the virgin life.
