Right next to the town church is the new town hall on Wimpinaplatz. Once the place where strict schoolmasters took care of the education of entire generations of students, today the mayor and city administration work here. The elementary school built in 1920 was rebuilt from 1978 to 1980 according to the specifications of the monument protection. Lattice windows, cladding made of red sandstone and a subtle color scheme help the new town hall to blend into the historic surroundings.
