It is 40 km away from Mersin, on the northwest of Çandır Neighborhood, and 7 km to the north of Ayvagediği Plateau. It is positioned on a plateau at an elevation of 1450 m. The road to the fortress is stabilized. The road on the south of Çandır towards the sea was protected by the fortresses Sinap, Gözne and Belenkeşlik. A 172-step spiral staircase is used to climb up the fortress. Here lie the ruins of a church and a two-storey building complex. Arched access gates between the huge rooms of the building complex and traces of paintings are still visible. Stone carving works in the church reflect the characteristics of the 11th century. In the southeastern section, we can see remains of some buildings resided by civilians, a collapsed church, cisterns, fragments of walls and a tomb.
