Copper Center area along the Old Richardson Highway, Alaska
Alaska

Copper Center, approximate population 400, is a village that stretches along a section of the Old Richardson Highway. In years past, before this section was by-passed by the new highway, the Copper Center Cash Store (the yellow building to the left) was an important retail supply hub especially during the building of the Trans Alaska Pipeline. The Olde Village Shop still sells souvenirs to the tourists.

Most residents live just south of this location along various side roads near the old highway and Klutina River.
