Entrance to Bulldog Canyon, Apache Trail, North of Apache Junction, Arizona
Arizona
Bulldog Canyon is located just north of the Lost Dutchman State Park along the Apache Trail. The Canyon is classified as an Off-Highway Vehicle Area and is popular with ATVs, Motocycles and 4-wheel Drive vehicles of all kinds. Travel is limited to roads designated by the Tonto National Forest for Off-Highway use. The area is closed to camping and target shooting. The Roads pass through the Goldfield Mountains located in the Arizona Sonora Desert. Access to the area requires a permit for picnicking, camping and hunting. The road shown in the panorama is Forest Road 10. The land has typical Arizona Sonora Desert vegetation including a variety of cactus and other desert adapted plants. The tall saguaro cactus can be seen in the distance and the other desert plants include ocotillo, cholla cactus, brittle bush, hedgehog cactus, prickly pear cactus and creosote bushes. The paved Apache Trail to Canyon Lake is barely visible in the distance.
