The Lansdowne Sycamore, estimated to have germinated in the mid 1600s, stands as a living link to pre-European development in America. Long celebrated for its age, size and unique shape, the tree stands as the centerpiece of Sycamore Park. During America's Bicentennial in 1976, the tree was adopted as the official logo of the Borough of Lansdowne.
Sycamore Park was created with support from the Greater Lansdowne Civic Association.
Borough of Lansdowne, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and many private donors.
