Onima Desert, Bonaire
Caribbean
'Onima' is a word from the language of the Arawak indians, the first inhabitants of the island of Bonaire. It means something like 'humid place'. The Arawak came to the island by canoe in about 1000 AD. Cacti and aloe vera can be found mainly in Onima.
