Bolivar Peak: Summit, Sierra Nevada National Park (Venezuela)
Venezuela

With an official height of 4978.4 ± 0.4 m Pico Bolívar is the highest geographical point of Venezuelan territory. Formerly called "The Column" until in 1925 it changed its name to honor the Venezuelan Liberator Simon Bolivar. It is the supreme goal of the climbers of the Venezuelan Andes. On the cusp of the peak is since April 1951 a bust of the liberator, molded by the colombian painter and sculptor Marcos León Mariño, along with a plaque that reads: "Liberator: The highest peak in the Andes is still small pedestal for your glory"
