Save Antoinette Hall
USA

Located in rural Pulaski, Tennessee, Antoinette Hall is one of the oldest standing Opera Houses in the eastern United States. But the 1868 structure needs a massive renovation. I am shooting a Virtual Panorama of this magnificent facility; before and after the desired renovation. The “before’s” intent is to promote the restoration fundraising, by capturing a realistic rendering in 360º photography. I can’t think of a better example of how useful a 360º VR panorama could be. This old vaudeville venue theater takes your breath away when you walk through the door. It has a u-shaped upper balcony, and a massive 35′ domed ceiling, and feels like a movie set from the 19th century.

Short of traveling there, nothing other than an immersive 360 degree panoramic photosphere can capture the ambience. Augmented Virtual Imagery can be employed to describe features of the interior, or even visualize the completed design. This is a new high resolution 360º panorama of the opera hall, shot at a 24mm focal length. You can zoom into the domed ceiling for incredible detail. This is very large file and may take some time to load and render. It was shot on April 25th, 2018. The theater is located on the Pulaski town square across from the old Court House. This historical landmark is an hour and a half drive south of Nashville off Interstate 65. The old opera hall is on the second floor of the STARR Theater. This performing arts center venue is in operation, but the second floor hall is closed to the public for now. It is available for private functions and photo shoots by appointment.

More About USA

The United States is one of the most diverse countries on earth, jam packed full of amazing sights from St. Patrick's cathedral in New York to Mount Hollywood California. The Northeast region is where it all started. Thirteen British colonies fought the American Revolution from here and won their independence in the first successful colonial rebellion in history. Take a look at these rolling hills carpeted with foliage along the Hudson river here, north of New York City. The American south is known for its polite people and slow pace of life. Probably they move slowly because it's so hot. Southerners tend not to trust people from "up north" because they talk too fast. Here's a cemetery in Georgia where you can find graves of soldiers from the Civil War.The West Coast is sort of like another country that exists to make the east coast jealous. California is full of nothing but grizzly old miners digging for gold, a few gangster rappers, and then actors. That is to say, the West Coast functions as the imagination of the US, like a weird little brother who teases everybody then gets famous for making freaky art.The central part of the country is flat farmland all the way over to the Rocky Mountains. Up in the northwest corner you can find creative people in places like Portland and Seattle, along with awesome snowboarding and good beer. Text by Steve Smith.
