Der Wetterbericht meldete einen klaren Himmel am Abend, ein Grund, mit dem Auto auf der Roßfeldstrasse auf fast 1600 m zu fahren. Die Aufnahme entstand in der Nähe des Hennenköpfl. Salzburg (in nördlicher Richtung zu sehen zwischen dem Untersberg und dem Gaisberg, mit rot befeuertem Sendemast) liegt ebenso wie das Salzachtal bei Golling unter einer Nebeldecke, die von unten beleuchtet wird. In westlicher Richtung ist die Milchstrasse zu sehen, ein großartiges Schauspiel.
Das milchige Band besteht aus 100 bis 200 Milliarden Sterne. Der Durchmesser der Milchstrasse beträgt ca. 100.000 Lichtjahre, wobei das Licht in der Sekunde 300.000 Kilometer zurücklegt.
