Tendrils of cloud from an early morning inversion wrap around the hills and into some of the cloughs around the picturesque town of Hebden Bridge in the upper Calder Valley. After weeks of hot weather, the moist air heralds the onset of a more autumnal feel.
Directly below is the ancient packhorse bridge over Hebden Water, from where this small town derives its name. Hebden Bridge is well-known for its mix of alternative lifestyles, cultures and crafts, and has a reach and reputation far beyond this part of Yorkshire.
