The mosque located in Kale Neighborhood in downtown Mut District, Mersin, was built in a külliye (Islamic-social complex). Even though the public bath and the madrasah within the social complex could not survive to present day, the mosque, Hocentioğlu Kümbeti (the Big Cupola) and the Small Cupola are still standing intact. The mosque lacks a construction epitaph. However, as the name of this mosque is also mentioned in the deed of trust of the Lal Ağa Madrasah pious foundation dated 847 AH (1443 – 1444 AD), it can be inferred that the mosque was built under the orders of Lal Ağa (Pasha) of Mehmet I of Karaman in the first half of the 15th century in the form of a social complex along with the madrasah and the public bath.
