Sarria is a very popular Galician village and many pilgrims choose this location to start the Santiago Way. This church is a kind of landmark pointing to the exact spot to start walking to Santiago de Compostela. From this point, there are approximately 100 kilometers to Santiago de Compostela, enough distance to get the pilgrim certificate.
