This is a view of the historic downtown of Truckee, California. Though now full of shops, restaurants, and bars, much of the old 19th century architecture of old Truckee is preserved.  Truckee was a rough and ready gold rush era town that produced little gold but plenty of lumber.  It is difficult to imagine that history now, with the ritzy shops and weathy tourists, but much of the architecture remains.
