We arrived at Axalp Village by 06:00 in the morning to catch the chair-lift from the village to the first peak. This saved us an hour of time with reduced effort. The climb is arduous but manageable and proper walking boots are essential. During the day on Axalphorn mountain the sun had come up and with no wind, it got pretty warm, but don't expect these mild conditions every year.
