The Ridge, above the Schuylkill River, holds the Northwest Philadelphia community of Roxborough, and a lot of old water works and new communications towers.  There are several examples of all of those in this picture, taken near the highest point of the ridge.  The steps and ramps across the street lead to the embankment of a large empty reservoir, now a wildlife preserve; the tanks behind the municpal ball fields are active in the current Phialdelphia water system.  The graveyard belongs to the old Roxborough Presbyterian Church, whose front entrance is around the corner on Ridge Avenue.
