It is located on the banks of the river that gives it its name, and has an area of about 33 hectares; it is connected to the Parque Florestal, a true lung of the city, and incorporates several equipments: multi-sports fields, pedestrian itineraries, Codessais picnic area (equipped with grills and tables), open municipal swimming pools, children's playground, cafes and tea houses; it is still possible to see old windmills, some of them recovered. A maintenance circuit is installed in the area corresponding to the Parque Florestal, which invites the practice of healthy living habits. It is in this area that some public bodies are located: Directorate General of Northern Forests, and S.E.P.N.A. da G.N.R .. On one of the banks of the river, future installations of the Parque de Ciência Viva are being built.

This area of the city plays a major role in the lives of Vila Realisans, with a notable link created between them, the river and the entire environment of the Park.
