Bolivar Square is the main square of the city of Bogota and Colombia. It is located in the city center, between 7th and 8th races to 10th streets and 11.ª. All around are some of the main buildings of the city: to the north the courthouse, the Capitol south, east the Cathedral of Colombia, the House of Ecclesiastical Council, the Capilla del Sagrario and the Archbishop's Palace and the west Liévano Palace, seat of the Mayor of Bogotá. It was proposed as National Monument Colombia by Resolution 51 of October 26, 1994 and declared as such by Decree 1802 of October 19, 1995.
A study by the University of the Andes holds that Bolivar Square has 13,903 square feet (including the streets around them) and a maximum of 55,612 capacity shall people
