The Hill of Heddle overlooks Finstown and the Bay of Firth.

Currently there is considerable interest in "drowned landscapes" which is a study of the shallow seabed to find where people lived when the sea level was lower. There is a lot of studdy being carried out in the Bay of Firth on this subject.
