Uper courtyard / Horné nádvorie. Ľubovniansky castle was built by the Hungarian king Oondrej III. At the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. It originated as a border guard castle, protecting business trips to Poland. In the preserved part of the castle there is a museum, which includes historical exposition. It is open all year round to the public. Right next to the Ľubovniansky hrad is an exposition of the Museum of Folk Architecture in this area. From the castle there is a view of the town of Stará Ľubovňa. Ľubovniansky hrad nechal postaviť uhorský kráľ Oondrej III. Na prelome 13. a 14.storočia. Vznikol ako hraničný strážny hrad, chrániaci obchodné cesty do Poľska. V zachovanej časti hradu sa nachádza múzeum, súčasťou ktorého je historická expozícia. Turiisticky je celoročne prístupný verejnosti. Priamo pod Ľubovnianskym hradom sa nachádza expozícia Múzea ľudovej architektúry tejto oblasti. Z hradu je výhľad na mesto Stará Ľubovňa.
