During Jimmy Carter's childhood, the area around the family farm was known as Archery, Georgia, and contained the houses of many of the farm's workers, in addition to the Carters' general store. A visit to this farm makes one realize how significant Carter's boyhood experience was in shaping his view of humanity. If you rotate the panorama to the right from where it opens, you can see what remains of a pecan grove that was planted by Carter's father, Earl, for his mother, Lillian.
