Regarding the surface area Lake Taupo is the largest Lake in New Zealand. Taupo lies in an area of strong geothermal activities. There a many hot springs to be found between Taupo and Rotorua. The “Love Taupo” is a typical tourist attraction of the hashtag-generation.
