The Duke Of Hamilton comissioned architect, William Adam, to design Chatelherault House as a hunting lodge and summer house.
Built 250 years ago, it is set on a hilltop site just south of Hamilton.
The grounds of Chatelherault are now a country park and the Kennels for the Duke's hunting dogs have been converted into a modern visitor centre, shop, cafe, display gallery, and contains exhibitions on the area's history and wildlife, and the story of Chatelherault itself.
