The Malad River rapidly cuts into Malad Gorge as it descends towards the Snake River near Tuttle, Idaho. This is the Malad Gorge Unit, part of the Thousand Springs State Park, a footbridge next to Interstate 84 allows one to peer down a narrow slot known as the Devils Washbowl.
A few months prior in March 2021, a Ford Pickup towing a caravan lost control & their truck fell over the edge, dangling only by the safety chain connected to the caravan that was still on the freeway. The couple inside were left dangling in their seats suspended over the 100' drop for over an hour before they were safely brought out.
