Shanwei Fish Port, located at the north of the Kaoping Stream estuary, is known for its catch of eel fry. The eel has been one of the favorites of food-lovers, resulting in its high economic value and is thus also called “platinum”. At the port, there is the Lujihdian Park where one can watch the splendid view of water from the Gaoping Stream converging into the sea. Here, only small fishing boats and motor catamarans can be seen due to the small-scale fishing business. It is a relaxing sight and a cultural experience to watch the boats return from the sea as another group of fishermen await their turn for another lucky catch.
