Staufen Castle, View 1
Baden-Wuerttemberg

Ruin of the castle in the vineyards near Staufen in the Markgräflerland. Staufen is a little town in the wine region Markgräflerland. The Markgräflerland is located west of the Black Forest and south of Freiburg. Documents about mining for silver and lead near Staufen reach back into medieval times. The castle ruins belong to a castle built in the 12th century.
