Waiheke is the second largest island in the Hauraki Gulf. Taking a ferry from Auckland you will reach Waiheke in just under one hour. There are more than 30 vineyards on the island. The island is also famous for its beaches. Established in 1992 Mudbrick Vineyard is rather a young vineyard – well compared to European standards. But that does not prevent them from making really fine wines. The spectrum of their wines is quite interesting. Noteworthy is their Viognier – a good choice for their terroir.
