工學院大道是一條南北向，位於成功校區內的的直路。兩旁種滿了高大的樹木，是非常適合散步的地方。工學院大道上共有十個系所，其中有八個都是工學院系館。成大早期在日治時期的政策創立了臺灣總督府臺南高等工業學校，一直到今天轉變為成功大學，也種下了工程科學起家的基礎。在Google Earth 上可以清楚的看到工學院大道兩旁建築物形式都很一致，是因為幾乎每棟建築都是當初日本人所蓋的學院沿用至今。
根據介紹版的說明，這裡擺放的雕像是由周義雄先生在1997年做的「琵琶飛天」，使用的材料材料是金銅加彩。

Here we at the sidewalk beside Engeneering Avanue. The building with muiltiply layers of blocks is our Main library. Building of Department of Geomatics is at the opposite side of library on this side walk. Accross the road, is the Building of Civil Engineering.
Engeneering Avanue is a north-south straight road in Cheng Kung campus. Two lines of tall trees were planted along the road make it becomes a perfect place to take a walk. There are ten department on this avanue eitht of them were in the college of engineering. Japanese founded "Tainan Senior Engineering School of governor-general of Taiwan" in the early times when taiwan under Japanese rule. It planted the seed that this school will grow by engineering science and becomes NCKU today. You can see clearly on Google Earth that buildings besides avanue are very neat and simular since almost every buildings they use today is still the same old buildings Japanese built for school.
According to the exposition on it, the sculptuer here is named "Flying to the Sky with Balloon Guitar" made by Yi-Hsiung Chou in 1997. The material is Dyed Bronze.
