The Collegiate Church of St. Peter in Bad Wimpfen is considered one of the most important buildings of the early Gothic in Germany. The emergence of the church is largely in the dark. It was probably built on the site of the temple or administrative headquarters. The present building dates from the 10th century (Romanesque westwork) and the 13th century (Gothic nave and choir). Impressive is the High Gothic cloister.
